Our Story

My name is Lindsey and I am the owner and face behind Why Knot.  I live (and have always lived) in Central PA in the Harrisburg area.  I've been doing macrame since 2020 when I picked it up as a hobby during the pandemic. I've enjoyed it so much, I made it into a living for myself and my family.  I am a coffee fiend and plant addict, a sucker for a good sunset and will take you up on a hike ANY time.  Add some beach and or dogs into the mix and now we're really talking! 

Macrame is extremely therapeutic and it has helped me through a really tough time in my life, I take every chance to share my art with others!  This creative business brings so much joy into my life and I'm so happy you're here with me.  My macrame journey began during COVID.  I'd accumulated 1 too many plants and was running out of space to put them -- so I recounted my mom and grandma's home decor, they had plants hanging everywhere!  It must run in the family.  I tied my way through all of the YouTube tutorials and started to create my own pieces, I learned that I might actually be pretty good at this knotting thing.  After some peer pressure from friends and family, Why Knot was born. 

I couldn't have imagined 2 years ago where I would be today, simply because I started creating knots.  Now, just two years after learning to create macrame art, I am selling wholesale & consignment with retail stores in the Harrisburg PA area and around the country (stay tuned for my stockist guide!), I participate in local makers markets and teach macrame workshops.  I am so thankful for this creative outlet and all of you for your generosity and support of my family!

Shipping Policy

Fulfills orders within 7-13 days and are sent by USPS first class mail unless otherwise requested by the buyer. 

Be aware that we are not responsible for errors made by the shipping carrier such us delays, additional fees and taxes or lost packages. We’re not responsible for any package being stolen off your doorstep or mailbox.

Refund Policy

Why Knot is a very small business. Therefore, we are unable to offer refunds if you change your mind about an order for any reason. We do offer store credit or exchanges for products returned, unused and without damage.

We have a 7-day exchange policy. This means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request an exchange or store credit. To be eligible for an exchange, your item must be returned in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
