19 Customer Acquisition Channels Template

By Karen Rzepecki

To be honest, I found this when going online to buy the other Traction book. It breaks down the 19 customer acquisition channels that they call traction channels. After learning about the channels, the book shows you how to prioritize the right ones for your product and company.

I put together a spreadsheet analysis tool to make it easy. In practice, we had experience with some channels that did not work, so we added “What hasn’t worked” as an additional filter option. I thought “what’s possible” was too close to “what’s probable” so I changed the filter option titles. They are: What’s Working, What’s Likely, What’s Possible, What Hasn’t Worked.

You’ll also notice there are 20 channels in this template. We broke down the Trade Shows into two: Virtual Trade Shows and Trade Shows in person. We aren’t alone in finding that the return on investment for in person trade shows isn’t worth it but virtual ones are. By separating them the team stays focused on what works.

Have fun ranking the channels, implementing and getting traction!

This template is not intended to replace the book. It is a companion to make implementation easier. Buy the book, use the template, and be successful.
